What is a soft 404?

A page that tells users it doesn't exist (or has almost no content) but returns HTTP 200 instead of 404.

Search engines flag soft 404s in tools like Google Search Console and usually drop them from the index.

Thin pages, empty search results, and "no products found" listings are common causes.

Why it matters when you launch

Programmatic pages with too few items can be treated as soft 404s. That's why FinderLaunch only builds a list page once it has enough real products.
