About FlowPick

FlowPick is a free, open-source browser extension that detects and downloads streaming media (M3U8/HLS, MPD/DASH), direct video (MP4/WebM), audio (MP3/AAC/M4A) and embedded images from web pages. It parses manifests client-side (no servers or uploads), downloads fragments concurrently, and repackages TS/fMP4 fragments into progressive MP4 using mux.js — all via Web Workers and the File System Access API for local saving. Available for Chrome/Edge/Firefox, ideal for offline course archiving, podcast saving, and live-replay capture.

Key Features

  • Detects M3U8/HLS, MPD/DASH, MP4/WebM, audio and images on pages
  • Client-side manifest parsing and concurrent fragment download (no server uploads)
  • Repackages TS/fMP4 fragments into progressive MP4 using mux.js
  • Privacy-first and open-source — runs in-browser via Web Workers and File System Access API
  • Multi-browser support: Chrome, Edge, Firefox; handles large files and live replay capture

Who is this for?

Students, journalists, podcasters, course-takers, and power users who need to capture and save streaming media for offline use (also useful to web developers).
