About Fontsight

Fontsight is a free Chrome/Brave extension that identifies the typeface your browser actually rendered. Point at text to reveal the rendered font, its foundry, and ready-to-use CSS; click to pin a card and copy the font-family. It detects fallbacks, faux bolding, and borrowed glyphs, and links to foundries and free alternatives. Activate quickly with ⌥⇧F and use it to audit typography on any webpage.

Key Features

  • Hover to identify the exact typeface that rendered (not just the font stack)
  • Click to pin a card and copy usable CSS (font-family)
  • Highlights fallback fonts, faux bolding, and borrowed glyphs
  • Keyboard shortcut (⌥⇧F) and direct install from Chrome Web Store
  • Links to foundries and free font alternatives for each face

Who is this for?

Designers, front-end developers, typographers and anyone inspecting web fonts.
