About Hydra Download Manager

Hydra Download Manager (HDM) is an open-source, high-performance download accelerator for Windows, macOS and Linux. It splits files across parallel connections and mirror sources with adaptive concurrency, dynamic range stealing and sub-timeout stall prediction. Features include per-chunk checksums, Content-MD5 validation, local Reed–Solomon erasure coding for integrity, a stable C ABI (libhydra) for embedding, a CLI, and browser integration (Chrome/Edge/Firefox). Source and releases available on GitHub.

Key Features

  • Multi-source and parallel connection acceleration
  • Adaptive concurrency with per-server ramp-up
  • Dynamic range stealing for lagging connections
  • Sub-timeout stall prediction (CUSUM)
  • Per-chunk checksums, Content-MD5 and Reed–Solomon integrity

Who is this for?

Developers, power users, and integrators who need fast, reliable multi-source downloads or want to embed a download engine into apps.
