What is Open Graph tags?

Meta tags (og:title, og:description, og:image) that control how a link looks when shared on social media and chat apps.

Open Graph was created by Facebook and is now read by LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, iMessage, and most other platforms. X also reads its own twitter:card tags.

The og:image is usually shown at 1200x630 pixels.

Why it matters when you launch

On launch day your link gets shared everywhere. A clear og:image with your product name and one-line pitch noticeably improves click-through.
