What is an MVP (Minimum Viable Product)?

The simplest version of a product that solves the core problem well enough to learn from real users.

The term was popularised by Eric Ries in The Lean Startup. The goal is learning, not a smaller version of the final product.

A good MVP does one job well rather than many jobs badly.

Why it matters when you launch

Launch platforms are full of MVPs. A clear, narrow promise usually gets more traction than a broad one.
